Building Family Connections Curriculum Training: April 20-22, 2010

Interested in providing a class for parents about sexual health and forming healthy relationships? The Medical Institute for Sexual Health has developed the Building Family Connections curriculum to build the capacity of parenting adults so they can help youth grow up safe, smart, and strong.

•SAFE: Increase parent-child communication and connectedness

•SMART: Increase the number of parenting adults who discuss sexual health and abstinence with youth

•STRONG: Improve the health of youth by postponing the age of sexual debut

This 3-day interactive training uses dynamic adult learning strategies to teach the curriculum, training facilitation, marketing and event planning, follow-up support, and evaluation strategies.

•Effective Communication

•Decision Making

•Adolescent Development

•Teenage Pregnancy

•Contraception

•HIV and STIs

•Healthy and Unhealthy Relationships

•Sexual Abstinence
